We fondly remember the life of Zanti D. Squillace whose journey with Lewy Body Dementia ended on Monday, April 16, 2018. His difficult path over the past six years was made easier being surrounded by people who loved him. Zanti was born to Mattia and Vincenzio Squillace on Sept 9, 1928 in Kinney, Minnesota. He served in the Army then attended the University of Minnesota, graduating in Mechanical Engineering. It was there that he met his future wife, Ruth Kangas, with whom he cherished 65 years of marriage. Zanti retired from IBM after 30 years of work, all the while involving himself in the service of others. Deeply involved in Boy Scouts, Kiwanis, Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Rochester Radio Theatre Guild and the Chatfield Brass band; he stayed busy and enjoyed 25 years of retirement. Of course, he was also committed to traveling the world with his dear wife. He is survived by his wife Ruth, children David (Diane), Paul (Sandy), Steven (Kim), and Karen. Surviving siblings include Kathy Salo, Joe (Fay) Squillace and Martha Trogdon. He is preceded in death by his son, Richard Squillace, five brothers and four sisters. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart and include Phillip, Saralyn, Tim, Anna, Joseph, Maria, Emily, Rosemary, Laura, and Tony, as well as one great-grandchild, Liam. We are left with memories of his warm smile, good humor, intelligence and talents. You were a good man Zanti, an inspiration to us all.
