Youn Un

Mrs. Youn Un, 86, of 3549 7th St. NW and a Rochester resident since 1983, died of natural causes Tuesday night May 27, 2014 at her home.She was born July 2, 1928 in Battambong, Cambodia and was married to Phim Chao in 1946 in Cambodia.The family fled to the Thailand border in 1979 and immigrated to Rochester, MN in November, 1983. Survivors include four sons, Chamroeun, Chamrath, Chamrong, and Peou of Rochester; three daughters, Soyom Chao of Bangkok, Thailand, Soyon Chao of Minneapolis, and Mandi Chao of Rochester.Youn Un has 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.One brother preceded her death in Cambodia.Her late husband, Phim Chao had also preceded her in death in 1992. She was a loving, nurturing, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.She will be missed dearly and a part of her will always be with us. A service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with visitation 1 hour prior to the service Saturday at Ranfranz and Vine.
