ROCHESTER, MINN:Wyatt M. Currie, 16, was taken to Heaven to be with our Lord February 21, 2012 in Rochester, MN. Wyatt Mitchell Currie was born November 29, 1995 in Rochester, MN to Brice and Jennie (Johnson) Currie. He attended Kindergarten at Park Valley Catholic School in Golden Valley, MN through First Grade before moving to Rochester, where many people would come to know him. From a very young age, he was active in sports and the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were a true passion for him. Football was his life and he loved to practice his moves on anyone willing to get whooped. He always tried to keep up with his two older brothers; not a small feat for someone five years younger to obtain, but somehow he always managed to be right in there with them. He was a sophomore at Lourdes High School, and was a bright influence on everyone who has had a chance to meet him. All of his friends supported him through the challenges he was facing. He left behind a mother, father, and two brothers who will love and cherish him forever. Wyatt is survived by his parents, Brice and Jennie Currie, Rochester, MN; his two brothers, Brice A. Currie, Jr., Rochester, MN and Jacob I. Currie, Eau Claire, WI; his paternal grandmother, Barbara Currie, Rochester, MN; maternal great grandmother, Gen Wenskaug, Montevideo, MN, maternal grandmother, Karen (David) Zimmerman, St. Louis Park, MN, maternal grandfather, Dennis (Juliet) Johnson, Hastings, MN. Wyatt is also survived by his aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandparents, a paternal grandfather Stanley Currie, and his uncle Mark Currie. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Saint John The Evangelist Catholic Church, Rochester, MN with Rev. Donald J. Schmitz as the officiant.. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
