Woodrow D. Shoden, 88, of Rochester passed away on May 10, 2020 at his home peacefully of dementia and pneumonia surrounded by family and loved ones in Rochester MN. He was born on March 28, 1932 in Pleasant Grove to Carl and Ruth (Hart) Shoden. Carl passed when Woody was 6 months old and when he was 2, she married Roy Lovejoy. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952. On June 22, 1968, he married Rosemary Dannen. Woodrow worked for the Chicago Great Western Railroad, Hormel and was best known as a handyman. He loved his family and liked to make things and work with tools. He enjoyed going on vacation to Branson and other bus trips. He enjoyed dancing at the Pla-mor and had a booth for ten years at Thursday's on 1st and 3rd. He was best known for drinking coffee, reading the newspaper, word search and his sense of humor. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play basketball, football, hockey, and baseball. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Shoden; two daughters, Lisa (Erik) Virchow and Lori (David) Timmerman and four grandchildren, Ben, Caleb, Nick and Jacob Timmerman. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son in infancy; sisters, Verliene, Isabel, and Thelma; brothers, Ted and Lavaine; stepbrothers, Roy, Ronald, Glenn, Clarence and Warren Lovejoy and step-sister, Betty. There will be a private family visitation at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Eyota, Minnesota on Friday, May 15, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
