William Zodrow

William Earl "Bill" Zodrow of Rochester, MN passed away after a heart attack on Sunday June 9, 2024, at Saint Marys Hospital - Rochester Campus. He was born on May 22, 1941, in his hometown of Rochester, MN to parents Walter and Phyllis (Hart) Zodrow. Bill was a self-employed auto/truck repairman and welder for 60 years. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1959 and served three years in the US Army before working five years at IBM. He married Eileen Patterson on September 5, 1964, in Rochester, MN. Bill will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Eileen; children Wanda Zodrow, Chris Anderson (Steve McNaughton), and Zane (Kristy) Zodrow; siblings Richard (Nancy), Jeanne, Sherry, and Scott Zodrow; grandchildren Heather (Jonathon) Eckoldt, Andy Anderson, Zak, Zeke, and Zoey Zodrow; and great-grandson Seth McClay along with his brother-in-law Pat (Linda) Patterson and nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Zodrow, sister-in-law Polly Zodrow, and great-granddaughter Willow McClay.

Dad was the best story-teller, even though we heard them many times before. He had a wicked sense of humor and always made us laugh. He adored his kids, grandkids, and many pets. He would help anyone at any time and family always came first. Grandpa Bill brought kindness and love into the lives of everyone he met. So many people are better off because they knew him. He was very helpful with anything we struggled with, especially car/boat repair and home maintenance. He will be missed and treasured in our memories forever.

A visitation for Bill will be held Saturday June 15, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Ranfranz and Vine Remembrance and Reception Centre (5482 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN). A private family burial will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, any donations would be greatly appreciated to Bill's widow, Eileen Zodrow, for funeral expenses.
