ROCHESTER, MINN:William L. A. (Bill) Casper, 90, died Saturday, March 14,2015 at Golden Living Center East. William Louis Arnold Casper was born November 15, 1924 to Edwin and Leah (Boeker) Casper in Milwaukee, WI. Bill graduated from High School and was a pilot in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He married Virginia Ginny Kukla on August 5, 1944 in Altus, OK. They were married 67 years and she died June 17, 2011. Bill was Director of Safety in the trucking industry. After retirement, Bill and Ginny owned and operated Village Trader gift shops in Rochester, MN and Minoqua, WI. He was an avid painter and loved singing hymns with his church family. Bill owned a Mini Cooper and enjoyed driving it around town. Bill is survived by his children, Dick (Carol) Casper, Rochester, MN and Karen (Steve) Hastings, Centennial, CO; his grandchildren, Cathy Baker, Minneapolis, MN, Sarah Casper, Mantorville, MN, Joshua Casper, Rochester, MN and Eric Hastings, New York, NY; his great grandchildren, Jonathan and Patrick Galvan, Lilly Lynn Jordan and Nicko Rabe. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ginny, sister Virginia Leech, two brothers, Edward and Ralph Casper. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Rochester, MN with Rev. Peter Skogerbo officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester, MN. Memorials are suggested to Samaritan's Purse or Salvation Army.
