William Ernest Riege

William Bill E. Riege, 89, of Rochester died Tuesday, April 9th, 2013 at his home. William was born on June 19th, 1923 in Rochester, MN to Ernest and Mary (Keinz) Riege. William was the only son having been raised with two sisters. He lived in Faribault, MN for 40 years prior to moving to Rochester in 1970. He has resided with Bear Creek Services since 1980. Bill attended PossAbilities until his retirement 13 years ago. Bill enjoyed listening to music especially Elvis, Dolly Parton and Roy Rogers. Many of his latch hook projects were entered in the Olmsted county fair and the ribbons were proudly displayed in his room. He also enjoyed designing and making quilts. When antique car shows were in the area, you would see him there admiring the old cars and talking about not making them now like they use to. Watching planes arrive and depart was one of his favorite activities and he would do this a number of times every week given the chance. He had the opportunity to take a trip to Florida so he actually got to ride in one. A remembrance lunch will be held on Monday, April 15th from 11AM 1PM at the Bear Creek Services office located at 3108 Hwy 52 North.
