Wesley James Ivy passed away after a prolonged illness at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester, Minnesota on December 12, 2012.He was 93 years old. Born December 19, 1919in Fresno, California to parents:Bessie and Clifton Ivy.After high school graduation, he worked with his brothers in a sheet metal business and at Mare Island during World War II.He then began his college career at Pacific Union College in Angwin, California graduating with a degree in theology.He was later to receive a Masters degree in Education at Walla Walla College in College Place, Washington.He had a daughter Carolyn Ivy by his first wife, Martha Hurlbert, whom he married in 1940 later divorced. He married Marcella Anna Bullock, his wife of 55 years, on June 12, 1949 in Angwin, California and taught elementary levels and served as principal in many Seventh-day Adventist schools in the Pacific Northwest and California.After his retirement, he and his wife resided in Chehalis, Washington for many years. In recent years, Mr. Ivy resided in Brunswick, Maine with his daughter Anna Elaine Dalgleish, then near his son, James Erwin Ivy, of Oronoco, Minnesota. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Carolyn, one brother, Harold and two sisters, Viola and Gladys. Wesley is survived by:Daughter, Anna E. Dalgleish husband Frederick and children Holly, Hailey, Paul, Michael and Jon and 10 great-grandchildren Torrey, Trent, Harrison, Alden, Emma, Sophia, Lena, Josephine, Perrin and Ellery; Son, James E. Ivy wife Linda and children Nicholas and Lance and 2 great-grandchildren Coryell and Nicson; Grandson Kenneth Comptois wife Brenda and 3 great-grandchildren Tiffany, Danielle and Joseph. A memorial service is planned in Rochester, Minnesota in January, 2013 (date to be announced).Burial of his cremated remains will be at the Maquoit Cemetery in Brunswick, Maine in January, 2013.
