ROCHESTER -Wesley E. Dubbels, 79, died on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at his home in Rochester surrounded by his family. Wes was born in Rochester on September 25, 1934 to Henry and Agnes (Erickson) Dubbels.He lived and farmed in Rochester.Wes graduated from Rochester High School in 1952.He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Puerto Rico during the Korean War era.Wes married JoAnn Romness on May 31, 1959.He was involved with the NFO, and was also an elder at Grace Lutheran Church.Wes enjoyed old time dancing, working on the farm, reading and keeping up on farming trends even after retirement, and was a long time fisherman.He also enjoyed spending time and playing games with family and friends. Wes is survived by his wife of 55 years, JoAnn; four children, Keith (Sharon) Dubbels, of Rochester, Grace (Steve) Moen, of Rochester, Wendy (Dan) Kuehn, of Rochester, and Wayne (Pam) Dubbels, of Manchester, KY; nine grandchildren, Brittany Dubbels, Allie Jo Dubbels, Peter (Bethany) Moen, Denise (Charles) Myers, Michelle (David) Gilbertson, Brad (Mary Ring) Kuehn, and Morgan, Spencer and Jaxson Dubbels; six great grandchildren, Kiley and Hannah Moen, Jacob Myers, Michala and Tessa Gilbertson, and Justin Abbott-Gilbertson; and one great great grandchild, Sierrah Gilbertson; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Dubbels. Wes is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Agnes; a brother, Lavern Dubbels, and a great granddaughter, Cheri Rose Allen. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, 800 East Silverlake Dr. NW in Rochester, with Rev. Gregory Heidorn officiating.Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church.Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
