Wesley E. Crowle, age 95, of Rochester, died on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Zumbrota Health Services in Zumbrota. The memorial service will be at 11:00 am. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Saint Lukes Episcopal Church in Rochester. Private family interment will take place at the church. Memorials are preferred to Saint Lukes Episcopal Church or to the Salvation Army. Wesley Edward was born on February 22, 1922, in Three Hills Alberta, Canada, to Harold and Ida Pearl (Clements) Crowle. He was a graduate of Cresent High School in Calgary Alberta, Canada. Wesley served in the Canadian Navy from 1942-1945. He received a B.A. from the University of Alberta Canada a B.D. (L.Th-Licentiate of Theology) from Trinity College, Toronto, Ontario and Chaplain Training at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Washington D.C. On January 21, 1956, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Irene Griffiths by her father Rev. William P. Griffiths at St. Michaels All Angels, Calgary, Alberta Canada. They were married for 61 years. Wesley was a Episcopal Hospital Chaplain at Toronto General Hospital, Ontario, Canada from 1962-1965 and also at the Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Marys and Methodist Campuses in Rochester, MN from 1965-1987. He served as a Pastoral Assistant at Saint Lukes Episcopal Church and was their Interim Priest from 1987-1988. Wesley was awarded Chaplain Emeritus from the College of Chaplains 1989. On May 22, 2017, he celebrated his 65th year as an Ordained Priest and was ordained by the Bishop of Calgary, George Calvert at the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer, Calgary, Alberta. Wesley loved God and his family. He was a lifelong learner and teacher. He enjoyed reading, the arts, music and nature. Wesley was sincere, kind, loving and had a gentle soul. His family and church will deeply miss him. Wesley is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Margaret (Douglas) Sigrist, Patricia Anne (William) Wineland and Frances (Ronald) Troester; granddaughters, Jessica Wineland and Emily Troester; and sister, Doris Fletcher of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Wesley was preceded in death by his brother, John W. Crowle; and sister, Edith Doxsee.
