Wayne Meyers

Wayne Leslie Meyers died at home March 16, 2025, at the age of 64. Wayne is the fifth son born to Harold and Doris Meyers on June 5, 1960. When Wayne was 6 months old, they bought a dairy farm near Potsdam, MN where Wayne lived the remainder of his life. He graduated from Elgin-Millville High School in 1978 and on August 8, 1981, he married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Hoenk. They later bought the farm from his parents, where they raised their twins, Kirsten and Adam. Wayne eventually sold his dairy cows in 1994 and then worked for Ecowater in Rochester, MN. In 2012, he began working for Mayo Clinic in Rochester as an Animal Care Technician. He worked there until retiring on January 1, 2025.

Wayne loved and laughed deeply. He always had a smile on his face. He cared for all people that came into his life. After his retirement, he was enjoying old and new hobbies. He was a Minnesota sports enthusiast following the Timberwolves, Twins, and Vikings. He loved biking, going on walks, trying new restaurants with Brenda, reading, and knitting, a newfound hobby. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he loved to spoil. He was a devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving as an usher since 2002.

His generosity continues after death with his tissue and cornea donations.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Meyers; daughter Kirsten Meyers of Rochester, MN; son Adam (Abby) Meyers of Brookfield, WI; brothers Richard (Kay) Meyers of Rochester, MN; Louie (Diane) Meyers of Elgin, MN; Randy (Kristen) Meyers of Red Wing, MN; and four grandchildren: Parker, Connor, Grant, and Isabelle. He is preceded in death by his brother Rodney Meyers and parents Harold and Doris Meyers.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 869 7th Ave. SE, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Elgin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rochester, MN. Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Meyers family.
