Virginia Searles

A memorial service for Virginia C. Searles, 80, of Pine Island will be at 11:00am on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron. Visitation will be from 4:00 8:00 pm on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church and also one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Burial will be at the Byron Cemetery. Virginia Carolyn Hasley was born on January 6, 1937 in Rochester to Raymond and Helen (Proud) Hasley. She died on April 17, 2017 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island. Virginia graduated fromRochester High School. She married Harold Searles Jr. on December 26, 1958 in Rochester. They farmed in the Byron area for many years and moved to Pine Island in 2006. Virginia worked for Mayo Clinic for 14 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Byron and Pine Island American Legion Auxilary and the Minnesota Holstein Association. She volunteered as a Pink Lady, 4-H Leader and at Pine Haven Care Center. She enjoyed reading, sewing and spending time with her family. Survivors include one daughter, Katherine (Richard) Senst of Greensburg, KS and two sons, Steve Searles of Pine Island, MN and Todd Searles of Arlington, MN; three grandchildren, Aaron, Chadd and Katlin Senst and three great grandchildren, Jade, Brooke and Hope Senst; one brother, Raymond Butch Hasley of St. Paul, MN and three sisters, Joan Wooner, Marilyn (Ken) Monsrud and Barbara Young, all of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, one brother and one son, Chris. Memorials are suggested to the Minnesota 4-H Foundation, Christ Lutheran Church or Pine Haven Care Center.
