Virginia Maxine Mohlke

Viriginia M. Mohlke, age 88, of Rochester, died in the LORD on Monday, May 22, 2017, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Virginia Maxine Lilly was born on December 24, 1928, in Rochester, to Vincent and Viola (Mueller). She was raised and worked on the family farm and graduated from 8th grade at Hillside School, Rochester, later earning her GED. At the age of 14 she began work in Rochester at Kresges and elsewhere. On September 6, 1951, she married Harvey H. Mohlke in Rochester. She and Harvey farmed in Oronoco until May 1978. On the farm, she excelled in her care of horses and sheep. They moved to Rochester where she took care of her husband and worked part-time at the Post Bulletin. Throughout life she enjoyed music and travel. Virginia is survived by her sons Howard and his wife Leslie of Nampa ID, and Dennis of Rochester; two sisters Bernadine (Mrs. Eugene) Naylor of Lakeville and Dorothy (Mrs. Leonard) Burch of Rochester; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
