ROCHESTER -Virginia Fern (Culver) Myhro, 91,went peacefully to her heavenly home on Monday, February 18, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born in Red Wing, MN on April 25, 1921 to Ross and Anna (Myherer) Culver.In 1933, the family moved to Oronoco, MN where she attended Coon Grove School.In 1941, she graduated from Rochester High School.As a child she was in 4-H Club and was crowned as the first Gypsy Frolic Queen at Mayo Auditorium.During her high school years she and her sister, Vina, sang at local dances and were called the Milk Maid Sisters. During WWII she worked at Waters Connelly in Rochester wiring bomb sites. Virginia married Tilford Myhro on June 7, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester.Tilford preceded her in death on February 3, 2004.Family was very important to her and she always wanted the best for everyone.She was a homemaker, choosing to stay home and raise her children.In later years, she was a daycare provider for some neighborhood children.Virginia enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crocheting, playing board games, doing word search puzzles, and watching the Twins and Vikings. Virginia is survived by her children, Judy (Ron) Felt, of Rochester, and Tom (Jan) Myhro, of Byron; seven grandchildren, Brenda Gerdts, of Rochester, Daryl (April) Felt, of Rochester, Darla (Rob) Hain, of Rochester, Kelly (Nick) Darcourt, of Minnetonka, MN, Kasey Myhro, of Rochester, Jeremiah Thorson, of Rochester, and Natalie Thorson, of Howard Lake, MN; six great grandchildren; and special friend, Orv Lubahn and the extended Lubahn family. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Tilford; a stillborn daughter; a grandson; her parents; two brothers; and one sister. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 222 6th Avenue SW, with Rev. William Otte officiating.Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the church.Interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be directed to Mayo Hospice.
