Virginia Ann Slabey

Memorial services for Virginia A. Slabey, 94, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00am on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Calvary Evangelical Free Church.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Virginia Ann Breckenridge was born on August 8, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN to Charles and Pauline (Hanslemann) Breckenridge.She died on August 24, 2014 at Maple Manor in Rochester. Virginia graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis.She was a claims adjuster for New York Life Insurance Company, currently ING, retiring in 1985.In 2007 she moved to the Homestead in Rochester and later to Maple Manor. Virginia enjoyed music, reading, gardening and crafts.She volunteered for many years helping the elderly with their taxes. Survivors include four daughters, Carol Siverling of Rochester, MN, Judith (Leroy) Larson of Burnsville, MN, Susan (Greg) Noring of Coon Rapids, MN and Lynn Jacquez of Bloomington, MN; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one brother, Charles (Antoinette) Breckenridge of Alamo, CA.She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
