Mantorville- A Memorial Service for Viola G. Cotten, age 75, of Mantorville will be held on Saturday February 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at The First Congregational Church in Mantorville, MN. Burial will be later in the spring. Viola died on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield where she was a resident for only a few days.Viola was born in Pleasant Grove, Olmsted County, MN on March 30, 1934 to Louis and Sarah (Butlin) Forney. She attended grade school in Simpson and then Rochester Centeral High School in Rochester.She married Dewayne Cotten at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on June 20, 1956. She worked as a waitress for various resturants in Rochester, including the Princess Cafe and Bilotti's. She also worked as a Fork Lift Operator 22 years for Owatonna Tool Co. Viola taught Sunday School and was a Brownies Scout Leader. She enjoyed fishing, her pets, gardening, camping, going for rides and watching "Wheel of Fortune"on TV. Her husband died on December 31, 2007.Viola is survived by three daughters; Jennifer (Steven) McQuiston of Mondovi, WI; Denise (Edward) Jones of Preston, MN and Laura Lee Cotten of Mantorville; one son, Jeffrey Paul Cotten of Dodge Center, MN; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Russell) Clarkson of Wabasha, MN andMarcella Nichols of Milwaukee, WI; and 3 brothers, Pete (Maxine) Forney of Minneapolis, MN, Lyle (Eleanor) Forney, of Oronoco, MN and Frank Forney of Eyota, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a daughter in law.
