ROCHESTER: MINN. Vernon Paul Curtis, 86, passed away November 13, 2012 at The Homestead. Vernon was born August 15, 1926 in Rochester to Albert and Irva (Blood) Curtis. On May 12, 1948, Vernon married Lila Pasche in Rollingstone, MN. Vernon was a manager at IBM and retired in 1987 after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Navy, proudly serving his country during WWII. Vernon was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, The Society of Manufacturing Engineers and Rochester Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and bowling. Above all, Vernon loved spending time and making memories with his family. Vernon is survived by his three daughters, Linda Lentz of Farmington, MN, Rebecca Curtis of Rochester and Gretchen Schettl of Kasson; three sons, Darrell (Connie) of Rochester, David (Mary) of Zumbrota and James (Barbara) of Rochester; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Roland Curtis of Sheridan, WY and four sisters, Dorothy Therneau Spring Valley, MN, Rosalee Bacon of St. Paul, MN, Sharon Batdorf of Stewartville, MN and Beverly Ford of Boulder, MT. Vernon was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lila; parents, Albert and Irva; four brothers and two sisters. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 16, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church800 East Silver Lake Dr. NE, Rochester, MN 55906. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Gregory Heidorn will be officiating with interment at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions maybe made to Grace Lutheran Church.
