Vera Marie Rueber

ROCHESTER, MINN: Vera M. Rueber, 89, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Mayo Clinic St. Marys Hospital Campus. Vera Marie Drews was born March 5, 1926 to Leo and Alma (Forbes) Drews in Rochester, MN. Vera graduated from Rochester High School in 1943. She worked at the Kahler Hospital for a year as a Nursing Assistant. She married Roger Rueber on March 11, 1944. He died October 13, 1988. Vera enjoyed flower gardening, needle work, counted cross stitch and puzzles. She enjoyed living in the country surrounded by nature's blessings. She had many cherished memories of when she traveled to see the oceans, mountains and many of God's wonders. Vera was a member of Homestead United Methodist Church, TOPS, and a former member of Oronoco Senior Citizens. Vera is survived by her children, Thomas (Gloria) Rueber, Rochester, MN, Kathy (David) Jensen, Rochester, MN, Sandra (Edward) Carlon, Rochester, MN and step children, Kenneth (Mardell) Rueber, Pine Island, MN, Robert (Jackie) Rueber, Oronoco, MN, and Mary Ellen Thirtle, Lake Jackson, TX fifteen grandchildren, and many great grand, and great great grandchildren her sister Virginia Burt, Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger, and a sister Phyllis. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel with Rev. Bob Kandels officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Homestead United Methodist Church.
