Funeral services for VaLor C. McGowan, 90, of Indialantic, FL will be at 1:00pm on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Happy Hour to follow services. VaLor Charlotte McGowan was born on February 5, 1926 in Rochester, MN to Alfred and Helen (Harnack) Pretzer.She passed away peacefully at her home in Indialantic surrounded by her family on February 17. VaLor graduated from Elgin, MN High School and the Minneapolis School of Cosmetology.On February 8, 1947 she married Marvin McGowan at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester.She owned a beauty shop in Elgin during the 1950's. She loved walking on the beach, collecting seashells, golfing, and playing cards with family and friends. Survivors include her son, Mark McGowan of Indialantic, FL; one grandson, Todd Larson of St. Louis Park, MN; two granddaughters, Kara (Brandon) Brady of Rochester, MN and Krista McGowan of Satellite Beach, FL; two great grandsons, Quinton Brady and Tyler McGowan and three sisters, Jean Schuchard (Robert), Kate(John) Ahmann and Sue(Dale) Langdon.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin McGowan, a daughter, Leah Larson and a brother, Robert Pretzer.
