Twyla Finck

Twyla C. Finck, age 86 of Rochester, MN died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park, MN. Twyla Colleen Dreessen was born October 17, 1931 in Wall Lake, IA to Louis and Esther (Hoefling) Dreessen. Twyla was born with a hole in her heart and at the age of 35 she was one of the first patients to have the surgical procedure to repair. In high school she played basketball. She married Lloyd Finck in Sioux City, IA on December 19, 1952. Twyla worked at the Mayo Clinic most of her career, over 40 years. She worked as a Cost Accountant and managed Grants in the section of Engineering at the Mayo Clinic. She was an active volunteer in the Emergency Room at Saint Marys Hospital. When she could no longer walk the floors of the hospital she volunteered at the Rochester Senior Center, acting as a receptionist and the Rochester Police Department. Her hobbies include, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, she had over 500 books, including a large Danielle Steele collection, she was an excellent seamstress, champion league bowler, collected lead crystal and glass bells and enjoyed decorating for the holidays. She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Steven) Englund of Brooklyn Park, MN; two granddaughters, Jessica (Malakai) Ryker of Minneapolis, MN and Amy Englund (Jeff Bishop) of Bethel, MN; two great-grandchildren, Kaiza Ryker and Quinton Englund; and one sister, Bonnie Martin of Florence, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Louis; her husband, Lloyd; one sister and two brothers. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
