Thomas 'Tom" Gehring

Thomas M. Gehring ("Tom") passed away on August 3, 2018. Born on October 5, 1957 in Minneapolis, MN to Edward and Lorna (Olson) Gehring. Tom will be remembered for his smart wit and sense of humor. His passions included "Gehring's Garden Goodies," airshows, grilling, canning vegetables, salsas, and jellies. He was a lifelong animal lover with smiling blue eyes. On July 17, 2014, Tom married Kelly (Mercer) and joined a large close-knit family. He was a member of Elevator Constructors Union IUEC Local 9 for 39 years and recently retired. He is survived by his wife Kelly Gehring; daughters Nichole Gehring, Karey White (John), Heidi Warren (Dan); grandchildren Andrew, Jakob, Dominic, Isabelle, and Skyler; brother, Greg Gehring (Nancy). Kelly's daughters Lisa Mercer-Smith (Jake) & Jen Smith (Ben), and Kelly's mother Rose Enquist. He was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Lorna Gehring, and twin brother Baby Boy "Michael" Gehring. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester.
