Thomas Eugene Rowe, Sr.

A Memorial Mass for Thomas E. Rowe Sr., 73 of Rochester, Minnesota will be at 11:00am on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Pax Christi Catholic Church.Visitation will be from 5:00 8:00pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the church.Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Thomas Eugene Rowe was born on May 30, 1940 in Bradford, Illinois to Lawrence and Mary (Debolt) Rowe.He died on November 10, 2013 at Golden Living Center East in Rochester. Thomas grew up in Henry, Illinois and graduated from Henry High School in 1958.He attended DeVry Technical in Chicago and worked in McHenry, Illinois and then in Chicago for SRA.He married Katherine Sharkey on May 12, 1962 in Bradford, Illinois. They moved to Rochester, Minnesota in 1969 where he worked for IBM, retiring in 1992.Thomas and Katherine wintered in Arizona.Thomas was a member of the IBM Retirees and enjoyed woodcarving.He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the Northern Hills and Eastwood Golf Courses. Survivors include his wife, Katherine of Rochester; two sons, Thomas Eugene Rowe Jr. of Rochester, Minnesota and Jeffrey (Amy) Rowe of Rosemount, Minnesota; one daughter, Marianne (Gary) Steichen of Sartell, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Kathryn, Kelly, Doug, Ellie, Samantha and Victoria; three brothers and one sister.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janice.
