Teryl W. Armstrong, age 69, of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 3, 2024.
Teryl Willard Armstrong was born May 6, 1954 in Austin, Minnesota the youngest of 10 children of Willard and Onalee (Avery) Armstrong. He was a graduate of Austin High School. He was united in marriage to Mary Wiebold and they were blessed with three sons.
Teryl Armstrong spent most of his professional career owning an art gallery and custom frame shop in Rochester, MN. He was renowned for artistry in his craft of picture framing and had customers from all walks of life seek him out for their picture framing needs. He was hailed as one of the best in the industry. He was revered by his employees who were always more family than work cohorts. To say Teryl worked hard would be an understatement. He worked every day during the week and always well into the weekend to keep the wheels turning at his gallery.
He was a remarkable husband, father and grandfather. He set an amazing precedent for his three boys who have grown into hard working, respectable men themselves.
Teryl had a sense of humor that rivaled many and loved to laugh and joke with anyone that would exchange comedic jabs with him. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was selfless and kind and leaves that legacy as his boys are much the same.
Teryl adored his wife Mary of 44 years. Together, they lived, loved, and raised three remarkable boys. In retirement they embarked on many adventures. Taking a train to see their son in Seattle, flying to Chattanooga to see their grandson graduate from lineman school and entertaining grandkids at their home in Rochester. Teryl leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and a light that will continue to shine on this world through all the people he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Armstrong; sons, Andrew (Melissa) Armstrong, Christopher (Krista) Armstrong, and Taylor (Stephanie) Armstrong; 7 grandchildren, Hayden, James, Harbor, Victoria, Grant, Cody and Cole. He is also survived by his siblings, Turner, Terry, Todd, Trenton, Tanny, Tascha, and Teresa along with many nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Onalee and siblings, Tristan and Toya.
