Steve Wilson, age 68, a lifelong resident of Rochester, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at his home in Rochester after a valiant fight with cancer. Steven Carl Wilson was born April 2, 1952 in Rochester, Minnesota the son of Willard and Donna (Colson) Wilson. He attended Rochester schools and graduated from Mayo High School in 1970. He was a certified master mechanic and worked for Rochester Ford for over 28 years and First Student transportation for 16 years. In 1970, Steve married Deborah Huntoon, they were later divorced. He married his loving soul mate Christine Nelson on July 11, 1987 and together they have enjoyed 33 years of marriage. In his early years he was an avid gearhead and his love of cars continued through the end of his life. Music was a big part of Steve's life and he enjoyed singing Karaoke. Steve has always loved woodworking, fishing, and time spent with family and friends as well as his friends at the VFW who he loved to visit and joke with! Steve was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church and a past trustee. He is survived by his wife Christine Wilson of Rochester, Minnesota; five children, Stephanie (Greg) Lillis of Rochester, MN, Courtney (Tim) Winkels of Dodge Center, MN, Melissa (Josh) Rensch of Lakeville, MN, Jacob Wilson of Rochester, MN, Lucas Wilson of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, Connor, Brooke, Brandon and Jaxen; two siblings, Mark Wilson of Rochester, MN, Lori (Dale) Bagshaw of Ogden, UT; as well as a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Wilson. The family will have a Celebration of Life service for Steven at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the family.
