Steven Robert Bickel

Steven R. Bickel, 78, of Rochester, MN died Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Rochester West Health Services. Steven Robert Bickel was born September 22, 1941 to Fermon "Dutch" and Marvel (Stensrud) Bickel in Albert Lea, MN. He moved to Mankato, MN with his family at the age of 12 and graduated from Mankato High School. He went to Barber School in St. Paul, MN. On February 9, 1963 he married Bonnie Palmer in Mankato. The couple lived in Mankato where Steve worked as a barber. They later moved to St. Clair where he owned a barbershop. In 1967 they moved to Rochester where he worked as a barber retiring in 2007. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling to casinos, cheering on the MN Vikings, and family gatherings. Steve is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Rochester, MN and one sister, Shirley (Bill) Huettl of Mankato, MN, and many loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN 55901). Safety guidelines and masks will be required throughout the evening. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at St. Olaf Cemetery, New Richland, MN.
