Stella V. Meyers

ROCHESTER - Stella Verna Meyers was born April 12, 1914 in Pleasant Valley Township, MN. Her death marks the final passing of the siblings of Fred and Lillie(Draves) Piens. She married Fred Meyers Sr. in 1938. After their marriage, the couple worked and raised their family in Rochester, MN. Stella was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and other games with her friends and family. She cherished the many Piens family gatherings. In 2011 she moved to the Maycreek Senior Living Campus in Walker, MN to be closer to her daughter. It was there that she passed peacefully on Saturday, March 23 at the age of 98. She lost her husband in 1967 and she was also preceded in death by her sisters Esther Kath/Ayshford and Rachel Aswegan; and brothers Clarence, Alvin, Ernest, and Willard Piens She is survived by her daughter, Sharon(Connor) Galvin from Longville MN, a son, Fred Jr.(Janyce) of Ellijay, GA; granddaughters Libby Guyse, Tracy Meyers Kennedy, Sarah Meyers Warshaw, grandson Mark Meyers; and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Haak officiating.Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Memorials can be directed to May Creek Senior Living Campus in Walker, MN.
