Shirley Phyllis Nielsen

STEWARTVILLE -Shirley P. Nielsen, 85, died on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Stewartville Care Center in Stewartville. Shirley was born in Carimona, MN on August 16, 1927 to John and Carrie (Eickhoff) Glaser.Shemarried Raymond Nielsen in July 28, 1956. Shirley worked as a nurse assistant at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, as a kitchen prep at the Hubbell House in Mantorville, and as a candy maker at the Chocolate Shoppe in Mantorville.Shirley enjoyed her cat Puddy, reading, bird watching, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her children, Dennis (Twila) Nielsen, of Mauston, WI, Linda Shaw, of Jacksonville, FL, Brenda (Norman) Scherbenske, of Stewartville, John Nielsen, of Stewartville, and Jay (Deb Olson) Nielsen, of Mantorville; eight grandchildren, Joshua Shaw, of Jacksonville, Hattie (Kevin) Holgerson, of Jacksonville, Ashley (Jeremy) Maier, of Madison, WI, Brooke Nielsen, of Rockwall, TX, Matthew Nielsen, of St. Cloud, MN, Tessa Nielsen, of Stewartville, Katie Scherbenske, of Stewartville, and Kevin Scherbenske, of Stewartville; and four great grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; and a brother, Clifford. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home with Rev. Janet Fischer officiating.Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
