Funeral services for Shirley S. Jeske, 91, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Shirley Sue Schwanbeck was born on May 18, 1923 in Plainview, MN to Harold and Esther (Bundy) Schwanbeck.She died on November 8, 2014 at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester. Shirley graduated from Plainview High School and the Great Lakes Naval Academy in Chicago.She served in the United States Navy as a registered nurse during WWII.She worked as a nurse at Methodist Hospital and later worked part-time as a nurse for the Kahler Hotel.On October 30, 1946 she married Marvin Jeske in Plainview. In High School she enjoyed skiing, basketball, band, and Glee Club and later fishing, traveling, theater plays and her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Bruce (Terry) Jeske of Rochester, MN; son-in-law, LeRoy Dombrovski; four grandchildren, Justin, Dillon (Angie), Brandon (Kirsten) and BreAnna; four great grandchildren, Aaron, Ella, Calvin and Pieta.She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, a daughter, Sue, and two brothers, Harold Jr. and Donald.
