Sheryl Ann Schwartz, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on February 26, 2024, at her home in Rochester, MN after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Sheryl was born on October 14, 1951, in Grand Forks, ND to Irwin and Hattie (Nelson) Stinar. Sheryl graduated from Red River High School in May of 1969 and soon found love with her husband Keith in 1979 while working at Griffiths department store in Grand Forks ND. They were married on May 16th of 1981 at United Lutheran Church before settling in Rochester the following year to begin their family.
Sheryl placed great importance on family. She especially enjoyed attending all of her son's school and athletic events. She was known for her green thumb and love for literature. Sheryl found joy in her flower garden, reading, and leisurely walks with her Labrador retrievers throughout the neighborhood.
She is survived by her husband Keith, their son Scott, two grandchildren (Xavier and Raelynn), her brother Scott (Sue) Stinar, sister Sandy (Verdell) Olson, brothers-in-law Mike (Connie) Schwartz, Mark (Cinzia) Schwartz, Pat (Julie) Schwartz, and many nieces and nephews and her special pups, Otis and Leon. Sheryl joins her parents, an infant son and a special cousin Lynae in peaceful rest.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Pax Christi Church (4135 18th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901) with Father Tom Loomis officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. The mass will be available to live-stream at: https://www.youtube.com/@PaxChristiChurch/streams
In honor of her memory, the family kindly requests that memorials be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
