Sherry L. Bright, 68, of Zumbro Falls, MN passed away on December 2 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
Sherry Lynn (Ebert) Bright was born on September 4, 1956, in Alma, WI, to parents Alfred and Betty (Roffler) Ebert. After graduating high school in 1974, she went on to pursue a certificate in nursing assistance at Rochester Community and Technical College. After technical school, she started her career at Mayo Clinic as a nursing assistant. She later transitioned to an administrative assistant for the Department of Nursing, retiring after 47 years of service.
Sherry married Mickey Dean Bright on September 28, 1985, in Zumbro Falls, MN. Sherry and Mickey had two children, Jered, and Nathan. While working at Mayo Clinic, she also assisted with farming and caring for their two sons.
Sherry was a selfless and generous person - she poured her energy into helping her family and others. She had many friends in the Zumbro Falls community. Sherry will be greatly missed by her family, friends, former colleagues, and all others who met her.
As an avid Green Bay Packers fan, she loved watching the Sunday games with her mother and shouting at the TV. Sherry also had a more recent hobby of vacationing with her two sons. Her most recent trips were to Washington state and several week-long cruises in the Caribbean. Sherry was passionate about taking care of her farm and during the summer you could always find her doing her favorite activity - lawn mowing. Each summer she also enjoyed canning the produce from the garden. Her salsa was fantastic, and the recipe has been passed down for others to enjoy.
Sherry is survived by her sons, Jered Bright (Aaron) and Nathan Bright of Zumbro Falls, MN, brother, Larry Ebert (Peggy) of Winona, MN, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mickey, and her parents, Alfred and Betty Ebert.
Memorials can go to the donor's choice. There will not be a public service. A private celebration of life will be held later.
