Sharon Landsworth went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on July 31, 2024.
She was born on February 11, 1950 on her mother's birthday in Mondovi Wi. She grew up on a dairy farm near Gilmanton Wi with her parents Harlan and Lorraine Plett and sisters Barbara and Mary and brother Jim. She thoroughly enjoyed the farm especially the dairy cows and calves. She showed her cattle in the local fairs and won many ribbons on her animals. She used the excuse to work with her 4H calves to rush out of the house after supper to get out of doing supper dishes!
She married Rod Landsworth on April 3, 1971. To this union they welcomed their only child Katie. She loved being a mom and quit work at Mayo Clinic to be a full-time mom. She and Katie spent countless hours baking and canning vegetables and playing at the park. She later worked as a PARA in the Rochester public school system for many years. Her dream was to have a machine quilting business so she started "Quilted Comforts" and quilted over 1000 quilts for her clients that she thought of as friends. Her business Bible verse was Psalm 119:76, "may your unfailing love be my comfort"
She volunteered at Bundles of Love non-profit group where she sewed baby clothes for moms and dads in need. She never met a sewing machine she didn't like and enjoyed repairing the machines and maintaining them.
She enjoyed Bible studies and helping with Awana at Calvary Evangelical Free church in Rochester. She enjoyed her time with her sisters in Christ. The countless prayers of our dear family at Calvary Evangelical Free church sustained us through this journey.
She treasured the time spent with her daughter and son in law and her grandsons who made Christmas cookies and lefse together and played knee hockey, and colored Easter eggs. Trips to the beach in Florida and a trip to Arizona with them were special memories.
She and Rod enjoyed trips to Florida, walking the beach hand in hand, South Carolina, Georgia, Arizona and New Hampshire where they lived for 3 years. They enjoyed all the county fairs where Sharon would hug the cows when no one was looking!
Her life Bible verse was Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit".
Left to treasure her memory is husband Rod, daughter Katie and husband Dave, grandsons Danny and Mason, sisters Barbara Barkley Ellingson and husband Don, Mary Segerstrom and husband Neil, brother Jim and wife Nancy Plett, brother in law Gary Landsworth and wife Mame and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Our deepest gratitude to the outstanding and compassionate nurses and doctors and therapists at Mayo who did all they could to help her recover from surgery. You made our journey brighter and we consider you as dear friends. Thank you also for the compassionate care of Season's Hospice in her final days. God bless you for your caring touch. You make an enormous difference in your patient's lives!
The family requests no flowers. If you wish you may send contributions to Salvation Army, Bundles of Love or your favorite charity. Thank you for your many prayers that sustained us during this difficult time. God bless you!
