Sharon Kay Heintz, age 67 of Rochester passed away April 8, 2011 at Seasons Hospice, after a five year courageous battle with melanoma. She was born June 3, 1943 at Clarion, Iowa the daughter of Ernest & Esther (Ainger) Wilcox. Mrs. Heintz was a homemaker, she loved working in her flower gardens, watching birds, animals and really enjoyed fishing. Family gatherings and family fishing trips were especially memorable and something she always looked forward to attending. She was very family oriented and loved being with her grandchildren, and girls weekends out with her daughter, daughter-in-law and sisters was such fun times shopping, playing cards, and it wasn't a shopping trip without a stop at dairy queen for her favorite banana split. She married Emil "Sonny" Heintz and he survives along with her children: Sue Meier (Joe) of Chaska, MN and Don Heintz (Connie) of Elgin. 2 grandchildren: Connor and Tyler Meier, and her siblings: Sandy O'Reilly of Rochester, Pat Wolff (Ronnie) of Webster City, IA, Janet Frey (Joel) of Raleigh, NC, Jerry Wilcox (Yolanda) of Zumbro Falls, Bob Wilcox (Joan), and Keith Wilcox both of Rochester. She was preceded in death by a son, 1 sister, and a nephew. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 PM Tuesday and one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials appreciated Seasons Hospice or Operation Blessing.
