Sharon A. Schlingmann

Sharon A. Schlingmann, age 64, of Rochester, MN died Monday, February 18, 2019 as a result of an automobile accident. Sharon Ann Schlingmann was born December 4, 1954 in Mankato, MN the daughter of Gerald and Margaret (Frederick) Schlingmann. She was a 1972 graduate of Loyola High School in Mankato. Sharon resided in Mankato, St. Cloud, Texas, and moved to Rochester in 1985. She worked most of her career in retail and media sales; including as an account executive for KTTC and Fox 47 and was currently employed as an account manager for Arvig/Smart Search of Rochester. On September 21, 1988 her beloved daughter, Rachael, was born. She loved her and devoted her life to her. In 2012, Rachael succumbed to opiod addiction. It was at this time Sharon became an advocate for opiod addiction. Sharon was a social butterfly and was loved by many friends and coworkers. She cheered on the Minnesota Vikings, played bingo, attended the casino and played the lottery. She is survived by her siblings, Randy (Debbie) Schlingmann of Mankato, MN Gregory (Tatiana) Schlingmann of Mankato, MN Rodney (Gina) Schlingmann of Forest City, IA, Marcia Schlingmann of Jeffers, MN; many nieces and nephews; her special dog Sammy. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rachael Schlingmann; sister, Linda Blomgren (Schlingmann). Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Pax Christi Catholic Church 4135 18th Ave., NW, Rochester. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rochester, MN.
