Scott A. Williams, 59, of Rochester passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at his home.
Scott graduated from South Tama High School in Tama, IA in 1983. He then entered the United States Navy as a Search and Rescue Diver from 1983-1987. He was stationed on the USS Enterprise in San Diego, CA.
On June 9, 1989, he married Stacy Cook in Tama County, IA. They lived in Marshalltown, IA where he worked for M. Gervich and Sons and Hunt Electric. In 2002, they moved to Osage, IA. In 2018, they moved to Rochester, MN.
Scott loved chickens, birds and squirrels. He volunteered at Oxbow Park. He also enjoyed camping and his 2 dogs, Huxley and Zoie. Scott enjoyed auto racing, radio-controlled cars, boats, drones and helicopters. Scott enjoyed 3D printing and loved astrology and watching rockets. He enjoyed gardening and rock n roll. He was a member of the American Legion and up until 2 years ago a Legion Rider where he loved riding his motorcycle.
Scott is survived by his wife, Stacy, his son, Sckylar (Kaysha) Williams; daughters, Shantel (Travis) Nelson and Shayla Williams; four grandchildren, Kylee, Haylee, Everly and Iva. He is also survived by his mother, Janice Williams; siblings, Shelley (Darrel) Baker, and Stacy (Mike) Furness.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Williams. There will be a time of remembrance at the American Legion 504 Main Street Osage, Iowa, Thursday March 7th 3pm-6 pm. Graveside services will take place at 1:00pm, Monday March 11th at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN. The family asks for donations in lieu of flowers be directed towards a burial trust.
