ORONOCO: Scott Holmes passed away peacefully from cancer surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 20th at 3:29 PM. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and grandfather. Scott David Holmes was born January 28, 1957 in Rochester, Minnesota to Charles and Martha (Erickson) Holmes.Scott enlisted in the Navy in 1975 and was discharged in 1979.He married Janet VonWald on June 5, 1982.Scott lived a full life.He enjoyed spending time with his family, hanging out and playing games.Scott loved the times he spent at the cabin on Lake Pepin, riding his Harley with his brother Todd.He was always there to lend a hand to anyone that needed an extra one. Scott is survived by his wife, Janet of Oronoco; his son, Andrew of Oronoco; two sisters, Holly (Mark) Dison of Rochester and Tammy (Mike) Har of Brooklyn Park; one brother, Todd (Sue) Holmes of Kasson; his mother, Martha Holmes of Rochester; and one grandchild, Donaven Mann.He was preceded in death by his father. Service will be held on Friday, October 25th at the American Legion at 11:00 AM. 315 1st Avenue NW, Rochester, MN.Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM.
