Sovanny Ponn

 

Dan was a radiant source of joy and warmth, with an infectious smile that made everyone feel welcomed and cherished. Often referred to as 'the life of the party,' his wit and humor were unparalleled, effortlessly brightening any gathering. He had a deep passion for huskies and shared a strong bond with his four beloved canine companions. Beyond his love for pets, Dan was an enthusiastic car aficionado who relished exhilarating drives. He was also an ardent traveler, a music lover, and a dedicated football fan, frequently gathering with his brothers and friends to watch the Minnesota Vikings football games.

 

Born in Thailand on July 19, 1984, to Carl Ponn and Chhum Chom, Dan went on to graduate from John Marshall High School in 2003. After a year at Rochester Community and Technical College, he began his fulfilling career as a pharmacy technician, initially at Mayo Clinic and later at Costco.

 

He is survived by his mother, Chhum Chom; father, Carl Ponn; brother, Andrew Ponn; fraternal twin, David Ponn; and a wide circle of devoted friends and cousins from coast to coast.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates contributions towards funeral expenses to honor Dan's memory.

 

A memorial service celebrating Sovanny 'Dan' Ponn's life will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 10, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
