Sandra (Sandy) Price, age 73, passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 10, 2016, following a lengthy battle with cancer.She was born on April 30, 1942, in Cresco, Iowa, to Elma and Harold (Eatsie) Eiffler, who preceded her in death.She graduated from Lourdes High School and the University of Minnesota.She married Raymond R. Price on August 26, 1961.She is survived by husband, Raymond R. Price, daughter Kimberly Price of Eagan, MN, sons Bradley Price (Kristiana) of Longmont, CO, and Gregory Price (Jessica) of Brisbane, CA, and three sweet grandchildren, Kyle, Jacy Nash, and Quinn Lillian.Interestingly, her son, Bradley, was born on April 30, the birthday Sandy shared with her mother, Elma. After leaving Cresco, Iowa, Sandy lived with her parents in Harmony, Minnesota.The family moved to Rochester in 1958.While Sandy was in high school, she met her husband Ray Price through his younger sister and classmate Rosalie Price.Rosalie and Sandy have remained friends since high school.Prior to becoming a homemaker, and raising her and Ray's three children, Sandy worked as a secretary. Sandy was an amazing wife and mother.She devoted her life to her family.She loved books, and loved to read to her children and grandchildren.She loved shopping, and enjoyed bargain hunting with her daughter and mother at TJ Maxx.Sandy also loved cooking and baking, and frequently made special meals when her children did not like what she served for dinner.She was generous with her time, volunteering for her childrens school as a room mother and at St. Marys Hospital as a Pink Lady. Sandy was a talented artist, and loved to draw.She often drew pictures for and colored with her children.Sandy loved all animals, but cats were her favorite.She had a beautiful, longhaired, calico cat named Taffy for 22 years.She also loved collecting cat knick-knacks for her cat themed room.She enjoyed playing golf and watching tennis. Her golfing skills were put to use many afternoons with her friends at the Rochester Golf & Country Club. Sandy was blessed to have been able to travel the world.Whether it was traveling to visit her son and daughter-in-law in New York/DC/San Francisco, or traveling to Malaysia and Australia, Sandy always was up for adventure.She also enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren to Disney World as well as taking them on a Disney cruise. She often spoke of the friendly people, exotic animals, and beautiful landscapes of her many trips. Sandy was a loving, caring, and devoted wife and mother.She will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
