ROCHESTER - Ruth M. DeFrang, 84, died on Monday, April 4, 2011 at her home in Rochester surrounded by family. Ruth was born on April 21, 1926 to Julius and Hedwig (Mueller) Lenz. She married Bernard DeFrang on September 22, 1948. Ruth worked at the State Hospital as a LPN for many years. She also operated a daycare out of her house. Ruth loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing, crafts, and especially loved her dog, Missy. Ruth is survived by four children, Barb DeFrang, of Rochester, Richard DeFrang, of Owatonna, Bonnie (Jim) McTamney, of Macomb, MI, and Dan (Kailyn) DeFrang, of St. Charles; three sisters, Doris Clark, of Burnsville, Janet Webb, of Burnsville, and Hertha Lenz, of Rochester; grandchildren, Joe (Leslie) McTamney, of Blue Springs, MO, Nick (Jenny) DeFrang, of Rochester, Jake McTamney, of Manhattan, KS, Travis Winters, of Rochester, and Tiffany (Jamie) Ullius, of Janesville, WI; and eight great grandchildren; Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; her parents; and several brothers and sisters.A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 869 7th Ave. SE with Rev. Dr. James W. Heining officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and an hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
