Ruth Jane Waters

Ruth Jane Waters, 93 of Zumbro Falls, MN died Saturday April 2, 2022 at her home. Ruth was born June 27, 1928 in Scottsbluff, NE to Adam and Kathryn (Herber) Herdt. She grew up and attended school in Scottsbluff, and then moved to California to work where she met her future husband. Ruth and Leon were united in marriage on April, 6, 1948 in Glendale, CA. In 1949 the newly married couple traveled on Leon's Harley Davidson to Crystal, MN for a new job. After retirement Ruth and Leon moved to Zumbro Falls to be closer to family and help their son at the Bluff Valley Campground. Ruth was an active member of Zumbro Community Church. Ruth is survived by her three children Evelyn Strasbaugh, Chuck Waters, and Nate Waters, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, also one sister Esther. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leon in 2019, and her siblings. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday April 9,2022 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held Friday April 8, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
