Ruth Helen Schultz passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at The Legacy of St. Michael. Ruth was born on December 27, 1927, to Alfred and Helen Schultz in Rochester, Minnesota. Ruth was baptized shortly after her birth and grew up on the family farm with her two brothers, Carl and Bob, and sister, Margaret. Ruth was confirmed on April 18, 1943 at The Evangelical Church in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School on May 29, 1946. Ruth worked her entire career at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester where she managed the office administrators. She retired in 1992. Ruth was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church in Rochester. Ruth loved to travel with her friends and her travels included the Boundary Waters, Florida, and Europe. Ruth will be remembered for her kind heart especially when it came to care giving. Ruth spent many years as primary care giver for her mother and father and her sister. Ruth is survived by sister-in-law, Margaret Bretz, nephews, Warren (Sharyl) Schultz, Doug Schultz and niece, Jean Estenson. Preceded in death are Ruth's parents, Alfred and Helen Schultz. Brothers and sister, Carlton Schultz, Robert Schultz, and Margaret Schultz and nephew in-law, Bruce Estenson. Several great-nieces and nephews and many long-time friends. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester MN, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
