Funeral services for Ruth E. Kraft, 97, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00am on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Byron United Methodist Church, Byron, MN with the Rev. Beth Perez officiating.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.Burial will be at 2:30pm at the Hillcrest Cemetery in rural LaCrescent, MN.Memorials are suggested to the Byron United Methodist Church, Byron, MN or South Ridge United Methodist Church, LaCrescent, MN. Ruth Elizabeth Huebner was born on February 21, 1918 in Ypsilanti, ND to Frank and Martha (Schmidt) Huebner.She died on February 25, 2015 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. Ruth moved to Minnesota with her family as a young girl and graduated in 1936 from Houston High School and as an RN from St. Francis School of Nursing in LaCrosse, WI in 1939.Ruth worked at St. Francis Hospital in surgery at LaCrosse, WI, Wells Hospital, Wells, MN, Janesville Nursing Home, Janesville, MN, the Good Samaritan Home, Pipestone, MN and Fairview Care Center, Dodge Center, MN.She married Rev. Harold E. Kraft on August 25, 1953 at the South Ridge Evangelical United Brethern Church in rural LaCrescent, MN.Ruth served many churches with her husband in Deer Creek and Ottertail; Rice Lake and Brush Creek; St. Clair and Beauford; Pipestone, Salem and Jasper; and Dodge Center, MN. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Mary (Grant) Christiansen of Rochester, MN; two grandchildren, Steven and Amy Christiansen; sister-in-law, Ramona Huebner and several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold in 2014, brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon (Ruth), Kenneth, Daniel (Yvonne) and Hollis; sisters and brother-in-law, Lillian and Naomi (Richard) Reed.
