Ruth Ann Weis

A memorial service for Ruth A. Weis, 77, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Ruth Ann Wheldon was born on January 31, 1937 in West Salem, WI to William and Mary (Shane) Wheldon.She passed away on August 28, 2014 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. Ruth graduated from La Crosse Central High School and the Kahler Methodist School of Nursing.Part of her training included the Cook County Hospital, the Chicago Lying-In Hospital and the Rochester State Hospital.She worked as an RN at Rochester Methodist Hospital, retiring in 2010.After she retired, Ruth volunteered at information services.Ruth married Fran Weis on January 4, 1958. Ruth had a love of animals and enjoyed going down to the cabin on Lake Pepin.She enjoyed water skiing, sail boarding, fishing, camping, cross country skiing, bike riding, gardening, flowers, knitting, sewing, crocheting and hardanger. Survivors include her husband, Fran Weis of Rochester, MN; a son, William Bill (Karla) Weis of Rochester, MN and a daughter, Barb Weis of Crystal, MN and two grandchildren, Kenneth and Emily Weis.She was preceded in death by her parents and a child in infancy. Memorials are suggested to Paws and Claws, Seasons Hospice or Pax Christi.
