Ruby Busby

Ruby Lee (Kitty) Busby, 78 of Zumbrota, MN passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Maple Manor Care Center. Ruby Lee Leadmon, was born April 8, 1939 to Howard and Ida (Kercheval) Leadmon in Laurel, MD. Ruby married Willis Busby on July 1, 1955. After their marriage, the couple moved back to Minnesota. Ruby worked in food service and enjoyed working at Joels Greenhouse. Ruby was an avid and talented quilter. She loved to cook and bake, particularly banana bread, for friends, family and co-workers. Ruby loved tending to her flower and vegetable gardens; teaching her children and grandchildren all of the plant names. Ruby especially loved spending time with her family, friends and cherished her grandchildren. Ruby is survived by her children, James (Linda) Busby of Stewartville, MN, Dawn (David) Jensch of Esko, MN, Diana (Leon) Wenner of Odin, MN and DeAnn (Chris) Swanson of Rochester, MN; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Millie Derschon of Eugene, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willis; one son, John; and brothers and sisters. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery in Minneola Township, MN.
