Rosella M. Schumann, age 86 of Rochester, passed away October 19, 2014 at Golden Living Center where she was a resident. Born February 15, 1928 in Mower County, Minn., the daughter of Asher Ray & Ivah M. (Henderson) Green. She was a graduate of Racine High School, and lived all her married life in Rochester. On June 18, 1949 she married Milton F. Schumann. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2013. She was a homemaker and also handled the management and maintenance of an apartment complex they owned on Second Street SW for many years.She also worked part time for Aldeens Menswear during the 1980s. She enjoyed spending weekends on the Gypsy Rose, a houseboat they owned and kept at Wabasha for many years. She volunteered over 10,000 hours with the Rochester Methodist Auxiliary starting in 1975 through July 2007. She was a valued volunteer for the group, formerly known as The Pink Ladies.She worked in the gift shop as bookkeeper, Vice Chair of the gift shop, Treasurer, Co-chair of the Nomination Committee and Finance Chair. Surviving are her daughter: Debra Schumann (Rick Dahl) of Rochester, and her son: Kim Schumann (Mary Hoffman) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.Four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Milton, and 2 sisters: Mildred Risley, and Constance Anderson.Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church 400 5th Ave SW Rochester, Minn. with visitation one hour prior to services.Memorials would be appreciated to Mayo Clinic Methodist Campus Volunteers.
