Rose M. Garmers

Rose M. Garmers, age 78, of Rochester, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital - St. Marys Campus in Rochester. The memorial service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. The visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, April 13, 2018, and ½ hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Rose Mary Greene was born on April 26, 1939, in Rock Dell, MN to Anthony and Bernice (Gunneson) Greene. She graduated from Stewartville High School with honors. On October 10, 1959, she married Roger A. Garmers. Rose worked as a medical secretary and supervisor for many years at the Mayo Clinic and retired after 30 years as an administrative assistant in orthopedic surgery. She loved and took pride in her job at the Mayo Clinic. Rose was hard working and cared about everyone. She loved playing games, golf, bowling, fishing and sewing. Rose enjoyed trips to Laughlin and Colorado to see Betty. To Rose, everything was centered around family as it was most important to her. Rose is survived by her husband, Roger of Rochester; children, Daniel (Joan) Garmers and Susan Garmers both of Rochester; grandchildren, Michelle (Jeff) Lien, Nate Garmers; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Sophia Lien; sister, Betty Converse of Longmont, CO; brothers, Maurice (Alice) Greene of Rochester and Dale (Sharon) Greene of Spring Valley. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Kenneth Converse.
