Roman Pecherskii, age 13, of Rochester, Minnesota passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Roman was born on September 26, 2009, in Moscow, Russia. He was not expected to survive due to a life-threatening congenital kidney condition. Roman's parents navigated a complicated path to bring the family to America where he received a kidney transplant and ongoing medical care at the Mayo Clinic. Everyone who met Roman immediately understood he was a special person. He made friends in all walks of life and loved to talk to people. Roman enjoyed building Legos. Everyone who saw his creations called him "Lego Master." His special interests also were racing games, cars, baking and cooking - he wanted to feed everyone and even donated meals to local charity. He also enjoyed DJ mixing and had created a variety of music tracks. Roman loved learning about the world around him. Roman is survived by his parents, Anna Ryabova and Oleg Pecherskii, his maternal grandparents, and his brothers, Sergei and Theodore, whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents. Visitation will be held at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal PL NW, Rochester, MN, 55901) Friday, October 7, 2022 from 5-8 pm with the chanting of the Trisagion at 8 pm. Roman's funeral will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 10 am at Holy Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church (703 W. Center Street, Rochester, MN, 55902) where Roman was a faithful communicant and Sunday School student. May his memory be eternal!
