Roger William Bestland

Roger William Bestland, age 89 of Rochester passed away May 7, 2015 at the Season's Hospice House in Rochester. Born August 13, 1925 in Hanley Falls, MN to Julian & Eunice (Rudd) Bestland. Roger attendedJohnson High School. He was united in marriage to Lois Moore on July 10, 1944 in Garden City, KS. He served in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1952. Roger worked for the Federal Aviation Agency as a pilot and air traffic controllerfor 40 years. He retired in 1983. He is survived by his wife, Lois Bestland, his children, Roger (Carol Cansdale) Bestland, Webster, MN, Janet (John) Posch, Mendota Heights, MN, Julie (Bob) Stever, Racine, MN; his brother Wayne (Bernice) Bestland; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Mead; brother, Hilton Bestland; and sister, Marion Longlet. There will be a celebration of life on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
