Roger John Bowers

Roger John Bowers, 78, of Oronoco, MN. died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, peacefully at home. He was born August 25, 1935 in Zumbrota, MN the son of Denny and Louise (Zilz) Bowers.Roger attended and graduated from Mazeppa High School.After his graduation, he worked for Daytons and Gebert Floor Covering in Rochester.After mastering his trade, Roger partnered with Arlin Spicer and started Bowers Carpet Installation, which is still in business today. Roger enjoyed hunting with his dad and two sons.He was especially proud of his antique tractor collection. Roger married Sandra Brownlow in 1957 and together they had four children; William (Barbara)Bowers, Susan (Art) Klenner, Sheryl (Galen) Block and Jeffrey (Karen) Bowers. Roger is survived by his wife, children, twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a sister, Marilyn (Ron) Hargrove, a niece and two nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Presbyterian Church of Oronoco and Oronoco First Responders. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester MN.Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and 1 hr prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery.
