Rodney Beistad

Rodney Beistad passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at his home. Rodney was born on May 4, 1940 in Sisseton South Dakota to Reuben and Mabel Beistad. He grew up in West Fargo North Dakota, and graduated from North Dakota State University in 1962 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He then accepted a job at Control Data Corporation in Arden Hills Minnesota. He met his future bride Boe Bergquist at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and they were married on October 26,1963. Over the following years he worked as a computer engineer at the Mayo Clinic and IBM, both in Rochester Minnesota, and as an independent electrical contractor. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday January 14 at 11am at Autumn Ridge Church (Timothy Chapel) with a reception to follow. Visitation will begin at 10am. Pastors C. John Steer and Woody Roland will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rods life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the non-profit Paws and Claws organization of Rochester, from which Rodney adopted his dearest friend Squeek the Cat.
