ROCHESTER:Robert Russell Lehmkuhl, age 79, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at his home from pulmonary fibrosis. Robert was born on June 28, 1935 to George and Blanche (Rueber) Lehmkuhl in Westgate, Iowa in Fayette County.He attended school in Maynard and Westgate, Iowa completing the 8th grade.He farmed with his parents until 1955 when he enlisted in the Air Force.Robert was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1958.His parents and family moved to Minnesota in 1958, where he farmed with his parents south of Harmony, MN until June 1964. Robert married the love of his life Judith Kathleen Willford on June 20, 1964at Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony, MN.Robert was employed at GMC (highway 63 South), Clements Chevrolet Cadillac, Oronoco Auto Parts and Viking Oldsmobile all as a parts man at the service counter.He retired from Apache Mall Best Western Motel (now Kahler) as a janitor in 1997.Bobs hobbies were snowmobiling, fishing, camping, traveling in his pick up camper, hiking and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Judy; brothers and sisters, Richard (Dorothy) Lehmkuhl of DeWitt, IA, Betty Menick of Sun Prairie, WI, Bill (Verla) Lehmkuhl of Sumner, IA, Linda (Darold) Smith of Jesup, IA, Nellie (Tony) Grasso of Hazelton, IA, Alfred (Mary) Lehmkuhl of Winona, MN and Barb Stortz of Monticello, MN; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; one brother; one sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and four nephews. There will be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (1212 12th Avenue NW Rochester, MN) with Pastor Karna Hagen officiating.Visitation will be held from 4:00 7:00 p.m. at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.Burial will take place at Greenfield Cemetery in Harmony, MN. Memorials are preferred to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (1212 12th Avenue NW)
